Myscan is a design concept for a blood sugar meter. People with diabetis mellitus are able to scan and monitor their blood sugar and insuline levels easily and precisely, at home as well as on the move. A distinctive shape shows two extensions: one for the test strip and one for the code-chip, which in turn gives an intuitive indication of the functionality of the product. Myscan consists of a battery powered minicomputer, an USB plug and an insertion opening for the test strip. The collected data can then be transmitted to a computer via infrared. A needle pen allows a quick and easy blood test.

Vimeda produces and distributes medical self-tests for the analysis of your physical condition. These tests can be easily completed at home, without any previous or special knowledge. The evaluation of the personal test results is conducted anonymously and can be retrieved online through a convenient-to-use front end interface. We developed Vimeda’s new branding approach, as well as the packaging design for the self-test products. Our target was to create a remarkable and coherent design language for the different products, in order to achieve a clear differentiation from competitors, and a complete brand appearance. The minimalistic icons and the color codings help to guide the customer and support the understanding of thematic connections between the single self-tests. The result of our creative development process is a puristic and modern design which marks a new reference in the sector of medical product packaging.

With Shu Zi Jia Yuan Technology – a fast growing start-up company based in Beijing, China – we designed Qin Jian S1 – a new device approach for internet communication. Qin Jian S1 is a product designed to bridge generational gaps and to connect those living apart. With its puristic design, made from high-quality materials, S1 defines a totally new device archetype. While most modern smart devices are made for mobile use, Qin Jian S1 acts as an integral interior element for semi-mobile home-based communication. Qin Jian S1, with its 160° camera, affords effortless communication from voice to video calls; sharing lasting moments with loved ones. The tailor-made OS „Kinstalk“ not only interacts with the iconic round footprint of the lens, it achieves a symbiosis between UI and hardware design.

The headphones Montblanc MB 01 are the result of our journey with the Montblanc design team to translate the Montblanc heritage into a luxury travel companion. High-quality materials and surface finishes meet a puristic and elegant aesthetic. The single-sided yoke flows around the earcup and forms a unit with the metallic earcup ring, that houses the interaction elements. The packaging design reflects the clear and simplistic design approach and completes the luxurious, state of the art product experience.

The Sonoro Maestro is a hi-fi internet receiver that combines the advantages of the digital and analog audio world. The product is characterized by high quality, compact dimensions and a variety of functions and setting options both on the device and via the app. With the Maestro, Sonoro has added a new product type to its portfolio.
With this in mind, we have set the design focus on reduction, perceived value and evlution of the Sonoro product DNA. The front and the full metal control are are framed by the lacquered wooden housing that is typical of Sonoro products. The limitation of the physical interaction elements to the essentials enables intuitive usability and at the same time a new design approach for the device front. The honest handling of materials and production processes are the basic building blocks for the iconic and high-quality appearance of the Maestro.

The Berlin start-up Green City Solutions develops Bio-Tech filters to improve air quality in cities from a combination of moss cultures and Internet of Things technology. Our task in this project was to further develop the existing product together with Green City Solutions. The aim was to combine a high quality design with functional aspects and a sustainable design approach. In addition, the moss had to be protected from direct sunlight by an intelligent shading solution.
The quality of the developed design solution is shown by the city tree’s CO2 footprint being significantly reduced. By using wood as the material in an honest way, the city tree can age over time without losing its functionality and appeal. A puristic design approach, which develops from the continuation of the shading slats into a cubic volume, can be integrated well into the most diverse public places. The wooden surfaces and the hexagonal base allow a modular arrangement of several city trees and provide a place to meet, sit and linger.

In close collaboration with Vodafone we developed their 2019 flagship smartphone. As a result, the Vodafone Smart V10 comes with an expansive full-screen experience in a device of iconic elegance. Gracefully curved surfaces in sophisticated polished and satin metallic finishes create a modern and clean appearance. Iconic graphical elements such as the softly sculpted camera element on the back side and the side keys can be recognized even from a distance. The side keys emerge from the side flank in a continuously fluid way and the distinctive red power key embodies the design DNA of the Vodafone Smart V10 as an eye-catching detail.
